Beautiful subjects

We had a great time this weekend working with a family in murfreesboro, tn. We did the usual family pictures with mom and dad, 2 gorgeous girls, and grandparents.

We also had an opportunity to capture images of the girls just being themselves playing in the water.

We hope they enjoy the images we create for them and look forward to seeing their reaction to the portraits.

Now I lay me down to sleep

We have the honor and priviage of being a volunteer photographer for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS). NILMDTS is a non profit group that helps parents remember the brief moments with their child that does not get to go home. We are glad to give back and pray for the families that we serve.

Commercial work

When we meet with initial clients, we want to make sure we meet your goals and vision. We want to know the end product so we can shoot with that in mind. Wheather its for a magazine ad, poster, or bill board. We can meet your needs.

Senior Sessions

Senior portrait session is here! Our goal is to capture your personality and character in each shoot. Who has more personality than seniors.

Our senior shoots are unique and custom to each individual. Into cars, sports, dance, we can incorporate who you are into our session.

We are still looking for Senior reps. If your interested and would like to represent 3 kings photography, send us an email and let us know. Must be a social network buff! We only put 1 senior rep per school so send us a message and let us know asap before you loose out.

Baby Carter

Recently we had the opportunity to shoot with a precious little guy. Carter was 10 days old and must have slept the first 9 days because during our shoot he was wide awake. I really enjoyed watching him squirm around and taking small cat naps.

Recently I went back to look at my sons newborn pictures and what do you know. They would not open. digital images for emails and social media are fine, but its just not the same as an image that is printed and on your wall.

Really looking forward to meeting with Carter's parents and seeing their faces when they view Carters pictures. I think they will be pleased!

Spring Family Photo Sessions

Over the next couple weeks Ill be working on setting up a special location!

Our spring mini session will be at a beautiful log cabin right out side smyrna off almaville road near I-840. The location has a beautiful wooden front porch to take full family portraits. The front yard also has a big beautiful tree with a swing tied on that makes a great setting for kids or couple images. The backyard has a butterfly garden with (or will) vibrant flowers and color. and for the smart guys, there is an outhouse to take your portrait against!

Cool Springs Harley Davidson

What a great couple of days hanging out with the guys over at Harley Davidson of Cool Springs. We were hired to go out and shoot their new inventory of 44 new and preowned bikes for their website. Got some really great shots and met some cool characters. Learned alot about the bikes and look forward to working with them again soon. You never know, I may just start working on my motorcycle license. Those Hogs were awesome!!!!

Jess and Robert Engagement shoot

What an incredible couple with an amazing love story. These two just radiate their love for each other and made it so easy to capture. We took them out to Opryland Hotel and a couple other fun places around Nashville and let them just show their true personalitites. I (Kirsten) may be a little biased, since Robert is my baby brother, but I think they make a beautiful couple. We can't wait to shoot their wedding in May and see how their love continues to grow. Congratulations, Robert and Jess. We are so happy for you and thankful for the way God brought you two together!

I love catching up with friends from my past. Emily and I haven't seen each other since we graduated high school...13 years ago! This was a great opportunity to meet her husband and beautful daughter and get some great family photos before the next little one arrives early next year. :)

I (Kirsten) have known Sarah since we were in grade school. We have had some great times over the years and I was thrilled to pieces when she agreed to let me photograph her family.

I held this guy for the first time when he was 9 hours old. He's now 13!

Photo Tip for the week

A good photographer is always looking at the composition of his picture. When I shoot, I quickly glance at the subject to make sure that clothes are where they need to be, hair is not out of place, focus is on eyes, etc. I rarely notice the subject as a whole until after I'm finished editing the picture. At that point I can enjoy the picture and subject.

After a quick once over of the subject I'm looking at composition of the picture. I try to remember, "what is this picture for?". Will it be used in a magazine, framed on the wall,or is it to be used in a collection with other pieces? Next, take a look at the background and make sure that all hands and feet are inside the frame.



Notice in this picture, Aaliyah's foot was outside the frame. No big deal right? Just zoom out and crop later right? Wrong! We did this shoot for a 20x30 print of Aaliyah for a project, so we needed as much information in the picture as possible without cropping it (we will talk about this next week). Also, if you look on the wall to the right, you will see a water bottle on top of the wall.

So remember what your shooting for and make sure there are no distractions or cut off limbs. Please let us know if you appreciate this post and share with your friends.

Weekend in Dayton, OH

We took a little trip up north to Dayton for a very special photo shoot. The cars are rare and the ladies are beautiful!
